Tutoring Services
We believe that students learn in different ways. This core philosophy is exemplified in our variety of programming options to meet each student’s educational, emotional, physical, and vocational needs. Upon initial enrollment, students are evaluated to determine the most effective ways in which each one can learn and obtain his or her individual educational goals. After the evaluation, the SoT staff work with the family to determine the type of curriculum, appropriate setting, instructor, and location to meet the student at his or her current level and maximize the student’s progress. Our program serves students ages 4 and up.
We provide individualized and small-group tutoring services to help students who are falling behind academically. These services can be in the form of remediation, subject-specific tutoring, and/or homework help. Services can be provided in the home, tutoring center, or community.

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is a locally funded initiative sponsored by the Department of Employment Services (DOES) that provides District youth ages 14 to 21 with enriching and constructive summer work experiences through subsidized placements in the private and government sectors.
